Good afternoon everyone,
Thanks to you all for supporting both the Quiz night on Monday evening at Temple Bar and the "Last Cow" talk by Paul and Liz Oneill from Llwyngarreg (http://www.llwyngarreg.co.uk/) at the Village Hall.
The Quiz night was most enjoyable and again Dee has done us proud, well done Dee, also thanks to you all, we now have a further £50 in the Gardening Group funds, which is very much appreciated.
As for the "Last Cow" talk with Paul and Liz, this was enjoyed by us all and well worth asking for the next talk (Plants I have Killed) later in the year, although in the interim and after seeing the Rhododendrons pictures, we obviously need to visit Llwyngarreg in May.
With this in mind. Can you give me an idea of the best {May} date and time please, Paul and Liz are alright with an evening visit (by arrangement) and I will ask them what dates best suit them and get back to you.
Our next GG talk is on the 26th of February at LVH starting at 7:30pm when Piers Lunt (Abergwili Bishops Palace) will give us a talk on the Tywi Gateway Project (https://tywigateway.org.uk/). "The project aims to work with the local community to restore the Bishop’s Park to its former grandeur and to set in place a management structure to ensure the park remains at the heart of the community with a long and exciting future ahead of it". We had a walk around the walled garden last winter, and I'm looking forward to seeing the progress when we visit later in the year!
Will get back to you with dates and times for garden visits, but at the moment I'm looking at:
Aberglasney
Abergwili Bishops Palace
Colby Lodge
Picton Castle.
Upton Castle
Llwyngarreg
National Botanic Garden
Plus a few of the gardens Paul mentioned, must admit I didn't take notes!
Although, how we fit these all in will be interesting, maybe its two visits a month.
Kind regards,
Roy
