Hope all's well with you and your family, and that you're looking forward to brighter days ahead and to a productive growing season.
Our next talk is on Wednesday the 1st of May and at 7pm. The speaker is our own Trish Cormack, and the title of the talk is "Plant Consciousness".
If you're not a club member, then the entrance fee is £3 per person and this includes refreshments, please come along.
Garden Visits
All are from the National Garden Scheme 2024 list and are located in Pembrokeshire/Carmarthenshire counties, and we will send out an email nearer each date. Each visit starts at 2pm and finishes at 5pm, and costs around £5 for entry and £4 for refreshments; money raised by the NGS supports a lot of charities, so please come along if you can.
May 12th we are visiting Paul & Liz O’Neill at Llwyngarreg garden, which is just outside Llanfallteg, Whitland.
June 2nd we are visiting Ruth Swaffield’s garden at Cornerstone House, at Glandwr Whitland, this is a 1 acre garden, consisting of rhododendrons, azaleas, fruit trees etc.
June 29th we are planning to visit Joseph and Rachel at the Plough Felingwm for food and a garden talk. I will let you know nearer the date, since we will require firm bookings in place before we commit to providing Joe and Rachel with the numbers to cater for please?
July 21st we are at Liz & Will North at Cae Bach, at Hermon Glogue, Nr Crymych, this is a 1.5 acre garden, with a Japanese garden, wildflower meadow etc.
August 18th we are visiting Karen & Robert Hordley’s garden at Shoals Hook Farm, Haverfordwest, this is a 6 acre garden on a smallholding with a lake, woodland walk and specimen trees.
September 8th we are visiting Lorna Brown at Pencwm, Hebron, Whitland, this is a 1 acre garden set amongst native trees, with Rhododendrons, Hydrangeas, Bamboos and Acers etc.
As a matter of interest and since we don't have an organised Club visit to Norchard garden near Manorbier. This garden is open to the public on the 19th of May, and tickets can be booked through the NGS. This is a beautiful garden, with walled garden and orchard and is immaculately maintained and the cakes are special! If you would like to visit Norchard garden then please book via the link below.
Summer Show
Our third show will take place on Saturday the 10th of August, and will be held at Llanteg Village Hall.
The show schedule, which contains the Sections, Categories and entry forms, will also be available on Llanteg Village website, Llanteg Face book and by contacting Sue01.meg@gmail.com.
So please get busy, we are hopeful of exceeding the two hundred entries we had at last year’s event, and we welcome people of all ages to take part. Remember you don’t have to live in Llanteg to take part.
Without our judges and helpers, then none of this would be possible, so our thanks go to all who give of their time and effort to make our show happen.
Furthermore, we are looking for sponsorship that will enable us to purchase a small number of trophies and rosettes etc, along with gifts for the children’s section. So if you would like to donate a trophy or money towards any of the above items, then please get in touch, any amount would be welcome.

The Templeton Plant Sale is on the 11th of May.
